Monocle is a small Ed-tech and media literacy tool driven by AI and built as an extension for Chromium browsers. It allows users to parse the content of a website or article by choosing from a menu of different political 'voices'.
The tool then re-writes the content, displaying how it might look if viewed from a different political angle (ie, neoliberal, conservative, MAGA, socialist, anarchist, marxist, etc).
The purpose is to demonstrate how similar assemblages of data can be presented in different ways to construct different narratives and foment different biases.
